When we share the location with the X-wing tournament, or the LARPers, we have less leeway in how we utilise the location.
-- With the change in furniture, its also harder to lug around the tables. The tables with the big wooden boards are not only heavy, but very unwieldy this way, and wont fit trough some of the doors.
Yesterday was especially crowded as the X-wing tournament has grown, D&D had two tables and we had two tables. I discussed it with marinka, and this was about the maximum we could and would fit in the location. If x-wing grows they will move to a different evening so they can rent the whole location for the tournament.
If the plans for an evening allow it, we can still split our tables between rooms. When we had the leidse kade for ourselves we did get a bit spoiled. With all that room we could be as loud as we wanted. Which is nice of course. But if we do need to share space, we can be more considerable towards eachother. We all know eachother and wont bite (I hope ;) ) when we ask to be a bit more quiet.
If both we and D&D continue to grow, there is still more then enough room for us both. The D&D people dont mind, and actually prefer to sit together as they run the same scenario at both tables, and just synchronise the box text. For now they easily fit into the 'conference room' (the room with the white tables at the back). If they grow, they could use the big room.
More growth would probably mean we need to use more room, and pay more rent, but more people means we can also pay more rent. As long as people are willing to donate we can make this work.
