That's easily remedied by not really mentioning scenarios, or mentioning just broad details. Dreng's could be "Nobody's really sure whether his mannerisms are a result of his age, or merely an act to make his enemies underestimate him.  He certainly seems to know more than he should, but he must be a master of deception and subterfuge if this is all an act, as no one remembers him acting otherwise." (I really like his development in School of Spirits, by the way)

I'm certain this is all an act, by the way. One of the earlier scenarios mentioned his age heavily, but he seems too cognizant of what's going on (and capable of irony) for this to be a result of senility.

It's not something people *need* to know but you might miss out on some inside joking.

None of this is stuff you need to be able to play any scenario; if it was then it'd probably be rehashed in the scenario briefing/questions/knowledge checks somewhere.

Or in some other cases, the ongoing storyline of some PF luminaries is really quite spoiler-heavy with regards to preceding scenarios (for example: The Disappeared) so shouldn't be presented to people as "you should read all this so you understand the in-jokes".

Well, that's a good example. I've been playing PFS for about a year and a half now, and I don't remember the name Sheila at all, nor do I recall anyone  mentioning hating her. So if that is going to be a plot point somewhere, it would benefit from more info.
