and core can be strong on its own, in a manageable way. a lot of the problems come when they take archetypes or use source material from other areas in combination ( like burning arc, with a dual blooded sorcerer using new bloodlines from other books, and feats from apg). 20pt buy is the base pfs buy, so that's just the benchmark. the rest i can mitigate in game

Not sure why you would want to have the core options have a 20 point buy though, wizard/druid/cleric are still extremely strong, extra books or not.
