You can choose to apply credit to a PC of yours, you don't have to.
If you do then you need to print a chronicle sheet for yourself (and fill the GM stuff and sign it) According to the guide to organized play you have to pick the character you apply the credit to at the moment you hand out the chronicle to your players (not that anyone checks).
If you have reported your game and then want to change the character you have assigned your GM credit to the database is stupid in that it does not update your characters name. So best choose before you report the game.
