We did have times in Noveber last year and before that we could not run three tables at the DGG due to tournaments, and we felt that. We would have people waitlisted. Attendance has dropped from then (I think januari was a bit of a freak month).

Of course real life happens so player numbers will always fluctuate.

We are in a unique situation where our gamer space needs to be more specific then other games. As a living campaign we also have people from all walks of life. Where for a home campaign you eventually find people and a schedule that match each-other, with PFS we are a bit of a stew: little bit of everything. (but all together really good ;) )

Now this leaves us with some difficulties. The DGG was a good place. It was only thursdays, but it was free. The location was exelent, but it was often quite packed. Beer was available at cost price. We did have the side room where we could close the door, but whenever we had a side table, those people were in the really noisy main room. Also, depending on tournaments, we could not always host a third table.

That is the situation we are coming from. Now, I have not been to Kopi Susu myself, but summarising: It was only on wednesdays. There was no entry fee, but you could not bring your own drinks or snacks. The location was good, but due to the smaller space was often quite packed. This resulted in a lots of noise for all the tables, and tables having to be smaller otherwise people could not comfortably sit.

Due to not everyone being happy with the arrangements at Kopi Susu we have now tried Leise Kade. We have played there with three tables, one time. This location is available on both wednesdays and thrusdays, alternating between weeks. There is an entry fee, but you can bring your own food and drinks. There is also a fully function kitchen at our disposal, including a fridge Tijn is interesting at stocking so drinks/beer will be available at the location (for cost price). It can host three tables without the noise bothering people. There is room for a fourth table.

Currently we are all a bit miffed at the changes coming so quickly. But as far the only thing I can see people really bothering about the new location is the entry fee.

We talked to Tijn last week. The Subcultures already rents a room there, renting one for us doesnt cost that much more. The 40 euro's mentioned is what the Subcultures would like to see. Its not that they expect us to pay that even if we have one table. That would be ridiculous. If we dont pay that 40 euro, the venue will cost the Subcultures money. That is how it is. But if we can promise that if we have three or even four tables, we will still pay, so Tijn would recieve more then 40 euro those evenings, it would all even out.

As long as we keep evening out the score like that, I think everyone will be happy.

So coming thursday we most likely will have one table. But the week after that on wednesday, we have two. Maybe we can make it three. And those weeks can balance each-other out. And if we use this location a bit more, I think the subcultures will find other people who will want to game there, and the overall price will drop more. (example: if some other group comes to play, the price they might aim for, for PFS would drop to 30 or 25. Not real numbers, I am making up the values, but the idea is one that the Sub is working on)

I know the idea of paying for your games, as a player, is something new, and not very likable. Either in the form of having to buy drinks/snacks at commercial prices, or paying an entry fee. We did not have to do this before. But locations like the DGG are scarce. Finding a similar location that ticks all of the same boxes is pretty much impossible. So we have to compromise somewhere.

We cant go back to the DGG. But if we want PFS to continue, we have to keep going forward. If we throw down our dice in frustration, we are not going te able to play.

Nice. I like numbers. It''s only a fact if you can express it in numbers. It's science when you make a report of it.
All I went by were the times I could not play because the was no second table/group.

I don't agree. The problem isn't the money. Remember that we used to have three complete tables on Thursday night. When DGG went away those numbers dwindled and dwindled more with the shift to Wednesday. Now we have two groups. I have no idea how that split lies actually.
But leidse made is ideal. Let's promote playing there like I suggested. Let's stay positive.

Given the average participation on our game nights and how much money people have indicated they are willing to pay, I believe the Leidsekade is not feasible and we should stick to Copi Susu instead.

Because despite some complaints we've had several successful sessions there, and it just isn't realistic for our players to come up with E40 per week for the LK.

Don't think of it as a PCs night but an RPG night.
Enlarge the idea that there is a new place to meet and play.
Let Subcultures promote it as such. White Wolf RPG, FATE, Shadow run, the upcoming game Witch and this new Japanese RPG that Subcultures promoted.Heck, D&D 5.0
Promote is as "the more that play, the cheaper it becomes."

But I have already played Hall of the Flesh Eaters, so if it could be any else, I would prefer that.

I could run something again. I offered a week ago, and Auke suggested Scions, but that's been run a few times already, don't know how many are still able to play it. Same with Disappeared and Flesh Eaters.

I wanted to suggest Goblinblood Dead, that's somewhat Cheliax-related, and only a handful of people have run that one. I'd GM it again, but then you can't play it.

If I'm running something, I'd like to play 0-23 Tide of Morning, that one's whimsical and fairly easy to prep. Or I'll leave it to you, that's fine too.

Its mostly that I've run it already twice so very little prep (thursday is pretty close :P ) and its about as Dark Archive/Cheliax as it gets ;)

Let me check if I have something else for low levels that fits the theme.

I recall you doing an amazing job at GM'ing The Disappeared months ago Tineke. I had great fun that evening. Though I've already played it, I would happily sit at the table to make sure it's a legal table if needed. Given how well you handled that sandbox scenario, a similar scenario would indeed be a nice idea. Would #5-22: Scars of the Third Crusade be a good suggestion?

Ik wil best wat draaien. Wat zou men willen spelen? Een scenario? Zo ja welk lvl? Een module? (is meerdere avonden spelen maar is wel tof) Zo ja welk lvl?

Ja het is wat kort dag, maar ik hoorde het ook pas net dus ik ben zo snel mogelijk aan het communiceren geslagen.

Deze meningen hebben we echt wat aan, dus blijf ze geven!

Technisch hebben we nog het 'recht' om ook op de game night te zijn in de Kopi inderdaad. Echter de locatie Leidsekade gaat dan waarschijnlijk niet genoeg bezocht worden.

Ik hou mijn ogen verder even open en blijf onze 'belangen' behartigen waar ik kan!

Personally I like the idea of a running tab. It makes it fair in a way, but don't weigh my opinion too heavily cause we still won't be able to join very often.

Ik vind je idee om een vaste prijs te vragen prima Kwinten, maar vraag me wel af of we het daarmee gaan redden. Simon kan vast de attendance bij DGG van afgelopen jaar in kaart brengen vanaf Warhorn en daar een gemiddeld aantal spelers per keer uithalen. Ik vraag me af wat dan de entree wordt. Mikken op meer spelers is niet echt realistisch.

Well, I offered to GM on the 1st and 15th of April. Unfortunately I hear that the planned location is not available those days. However, I don't think it's a good idea to move the session to thursday, as the players who signed in aren't necessarily available the next day, and for that matter neither am I.

Could one of the admins please move those sessions back to wednesday, when they were originally planned, and switch the location to Amsterdam, at metro station Gaasperplas? Thank you. This would be at my place; I'm happy to consider other options if there's a public space available somewhere.

De wisselende dagen is voor mij geen probleem, dus daar hou ik me buiten.

Ik heb wel gedachten over de entreeprijs. Het is een supertoffe locatie, dus iedere week 2-3 euro inleggen vind ik geen probleem, maar ik weet niet of we iedere week 40 euro kunnen halen. Vorige week waren we met 14 personen (volgens mij), en ik weet niet of we dat iedere week kunnen redden. Zoals 't er nu naar uit ziet, gaan er deze week 6 mensen komen, misschien iets meer. Dan zou iedereen 4-5 euro in moeten leggen, misschien meer, om te gamen. Ik zou 't zonde vinden om de mensen te belasten die juist wel willen gamen, maar daar moet ik me maar bij neerleggen.

Een oplossing hiervoor is mogelijk (en voel je vrij om te zeggen dat 't stom is, ik ben gewoon aan 't spitballen) een vaste entreeprijs te vragen en een soort lopende rekening te houden. Als we een week met 3 tafels zijn en iedereen 3 euro inlegt, hebben we 63 euro (aannemende 6 spelers plug GM). Als 40 euro daarvan naar de Sub gaat, hebben we 23 euro reserve, mocht er eens een week maar één tafel zijn. Is extra rekenwerk, maar misschien een idee.

Een ander idee is, als we niet genoeg spelers hebben om die 40 euro bij elkaar te krijgen, om die dag weer naar de Kopi te gaan. Dat kan alleen op woensdagen, maar dat scheelt spelers 8 euro bijlappen als we maar één tafel hebben.

Whee, Gerard komt er tussendoor:

Ja, sommige spelers kunnen niet op donderdagen. Dan is de Kopi Susu nog steeds een uitkomst (we mogen er nog steeds spelen, toch? >_>), die is op woensdag.

I personally have played the Merchants Wake already, so I won't be able to switch table. I dont mind if the Weapon in the Rift session gets cancelled in order to make sure there's a full table, though I would like to know in advance is that's going to be the case.

As for the level range: I have a level 10, a level 4, and any number of level 1 characters available. Plus pregens, if necessary :p

I'm mostly looking for lots of roleplay and 'gezelligheid', so whatever floats your boat, really.

@Pieter - hm, we also have a guest room if being able to sleep over mitigates your distance problem a bit. We live quite close to vleuten station. It's nowhere near as bad as, say, Marks' place in Montfoort in terms of accessibility :)
